Firearms Transfer Policy
ITEMS WE ACCEPT:Long guns, Hand guns, Receivers/Frames.
WE CANNOT ACCEPT TRANSFER OF ANY NFA / CLASS III and related items.
**If for any reason you are not a “Permitted Person” -legally able to own or possess a firearm-, AR SMITH ART STUDIO cannot perform any firearm work for you.
If you are a “Permitted Person, please follow the steps below:
Local Drop-Off: If you are local and want to drop off a firearm, the same person must be the one picking the firearm up when the engraving work is completed. Otherwise, if you send someone else, they will have to fill out a form 4473 and pass a background check before AR SMITH ART STUDIO can release the firearm to that person.
Mail-In Jobs: DO NOT SEND A FIREARM DIRECTLY TO AR SMITH ART STUDIO UNLESS YOU ARE A FEDERAL FIREARMS LICENSE HOLDER AND ARE LEGALLY ABLE TO PERFORM
TRANSFERS. If you do not have an FFL, you may have the firearm transferred through a local FFL holder or gun store in your area that will allow transfers to be completed from their premises. Upon completion of the work, your firearm will be sent back to the FFL holder/gun store you sent it out from, where you can pick it up at your convenience.
IF you are only having work done on a semi-auto pistol slide or on a grip module that does not contain a serialized trigger mechanism, you may send it directly to AR SMITH ART STUDIO without having to have it transferred through an FFL holder (examples: Sig Sauer or similar grip modules with the FCU (Fire Control Unit/trigger mechanism) removed, barrels, AR uppers, AR fore grips, etc. IF YOU QUESTION WHETHER OR NOT YOU MAY SEND A PART/parts DIRECTLY TO US, call us and we will help guide you.
**NOTICE TO ALL NON-ARSAS CUSTOMERS: If you are not an ARSAS customer having custom engraving done and still choose to utilize ARSASLLC for your FFL transfer process, there will be a $150.00 fee for each transferrable item. If Transferee does not claim product or contact ARSASLLC to make other arrangements within 30 calendar days, or if the product(s) cannot be transferred due to NICS delay/denial, AR SMITH ART STUDIO, LLC may choose to ship the product back to the sender via COD. The COD amount will include any transfer fee(s), rescheduling fee(s), shipping and handling fee(s) – minimum $50.00 per item. If the sender does not accept the package, does not pay the COD amount, or the package is returned to ARSASLLC for whatever the reason, the product(s) will become property of ARSASLLC after a total of 90 days from the original date it was received. The Transferee will not receive payment for the product’s value, and the product(s) ownership and any value held is then transferred to ARSASLLC, which may disposition the firearm at its discretion.
